How do I know if my car has a wet belt?

If you're unsure, simply send us your registration number. We'll confirm whether your vehicle is fitted with a wet belt and provide the correct replacement advice.

What happens if you delay a wet belt replacement?

Wet belts don't always give clear warning before failing. If they do fail, they can cause severe engine damage or even complete engine failure. Most customers replace their wet belt as preventative maintenance rather than waiting for it to fail.

What happens if a wet belt fails?

If your vehicle is already showing symptoms such as warning lights or poor performance, continuing to drive could increase the risk of severe engine damage if the wet belt fails. If you're experiencing warning signs, have the vehicle inspected as soon as possible.

What is the life expectancy of a wet belt?

Many Ford 1.0 EcoBoost engines have a recommended replacement interval of up to 10 years or 150,000 miles, whichever comes first. However, servicing history and using the correct engine oil play a significant role in how long a wet belt lasts.
